Lakeland College

Vermillon, AB; Lloydminster, AB

When Lakeland College opened in 1913, there were only 34 students enrolled. Today they have two campuses and over 8,000 full- and part-time students. Lakeland College is Canada’s only inter-provincial college, as it serves both Alberta and Saskatchewan residents. Lakeland College hosts one of the only student-managed farms in North America. There are two components--crops and livestock. Students enrolled in Crop Technology actively participate in harvesting the crop on the 800-acre farm and raised beef, swine, dairy and sheep units.
